January 2, 2024: Supporting SLC MBB ( 4 hours)

Today is our first day back from winter break. We have players from all around including California, Washington, Tennesse, Colorado, etc and they were all able to go home for the holidays and spend time with their families. Everyone knows certain student-athletes such as men's and women's basketball must return to campus before regular students due to games and practices. Therefore, January 2nd was our scheduled date of return. We let everyone relax throughout the afternoon and catch up on some sleep from their long flights. We scheduled a team meeting at 6:00 pm to discuss what we will be doing moving forward because we have the whole campus to ourselves along with men’s basketball. With that being said , we ordered penne alla vodka and ate dinner as a team while we talked about how one another's winter break went. Once we finished dinner we decided to support the men’s team for their first home game of 2024. It was a close game but because it was winter break we didn’t have much school spirit to support. We had to bring all the energy we could to help them get the win. Once the game was over the team headed back to their dorms. The coaches stayed back and talked for another hour about how we think the month of January will go. This is always the hardest part of the season so everyone on staff must work harder to correct the mistakes from the first half. After we got a good feeling about the next couple of weeks we all decided to head home and mentally and physically prepare ourselves for our first practice of 2024.
