JAE'ONNA SUTTON BIOGRAPHY

I am a college student graduating from Tiffin Unversity in May 2024 with my Master's in Business Administration as well as a concentration in Sports Management. I started playing basketball at the age of eight and went on to play four years of high school basketball, along with five years of college basketball. I've won several state championships in high school and played an amazing career in college. Even though I can't physically play the game anymore I don't think my story is over. I am now a NCAA women's basketball coach at Sarah Lawrence College and plan on continuing my story as well as helping younger girls write theirs.

This website will be devoted to my time at Sarah Lawrence College as a first-year assistant coach at the collegiate level.

Professional Goals

My main goal is to become a sports agent in the future. I've played for many great coaches throughout my career who've inspired me to choose this path.  Although my career has come to an end, I will always have a love for the game of basketball. Therefore, becoming an NCAA women's basketball coach was my first step in achieving my goal. I want to use my passion for the game to inspire other young players who are going through the same experiences that I went through. It's many young girls dream of playing college basketball and with the experience and knowledge that I've gained, I believe that I can help them live out their dream.

I will be working along-side the head coach of the Sarah Lawrence Women's Basketball team as well as the other two assistant coaches and athletic director of the program.

There are many different kinds of leaders, I want to be the positive influence these youbg woman can look up to. I also expect to meet more experienced coaches help me improve my skillset. Networking is important when it comes to the sports world, meeting new people will open up many more opportunities.

We will mainly practice 2-3 hours a day except gamedays and most Sundays. We will also incorporate hours of team bonding, community service, film and scouting.

Specific Goals

A specific goal I have for myself is to become an influence in someone's life. I have a select few coaches I'd call role models, so I would love to have someone call me that one day. I want to extend my knowledge of teaching the game and become a well-experienced coach. I believe this opportunity will benefit me in the long run.
