February 1, 2024: Will We Make It To March? ( 6 hours)

Today is the first of February which means it’s a new month for new opportunities. I woke up at around 10:00 a.m. and did my daily workout routine. After that, I ate lunch and decided to head to the gym early today to do some extra work. While we give this team our full attention, we are still actively recruiting players for next season. We’ve already had several girls on visits and had a few commits. Therefore, I got to the gym at 4:00 pm to look at new applications that came in for potential players. I also looked inside the portal for potential transfer players. We like to get at least 2 transfers a year so we have some upperclassmen coming in instead of all freshmen. I reached out to some players I thought would fit in great with our style of play. After doing some office work I headed to the conference room to set up the computer for film at 6:00. The team we play on Saturday is last in our conference but we always come prepared for any and everybody we face. I showed the team some of our opponent’s highlights from their last 3 games. We then went onto the court at 7:00 to practice how we could limit their scoring and use this game to work on our plays. Practice went smoothly, we focused solely on the scout. We ended at 9:00 and sent the girls back to their dorms to rest. The other coaches and I stayed in the gym and talked about the outcome of Farmingdale St. winning tomorrow. It could knock us out of playoffs because they have more wins than us. We knew that we needed Farmingdale St. to lose so it could tie our records up. After talking we headed home at 10:00.
