January 19, 2024: Another Light Day ( 4 hours)

Today was another light day which is well-needed after the day we had yesterday. We didn’t have team breakfast today, instead we decided to let the girls sleep in. I also got an extra hour of sleep as well. I woke up at 8:00 am, got dressed, and headed straight for Starbucks. After I picked up my order I headed to the gym. Practice started at our usual time, 10:00. Since we have another game tomorrow we need to rest our legs so today was just some shooting and half-court scrimmaging. We did a few dribbling drills, ball-handling drills, and rebounding drills to get them sweating. After that, we put our starters on the white team and reserves on the green team to play against one another. Practice today was only an hour so we had very short increments of play. Once 11:00 hit we started individuals. We split up positions again and I had the guards working on their mid-range. They had to collectively make 100 shots before they could leave. I could see the frustration on some of their faces, but no one gave up and they encouraged each other to get through it. Once they were done we went to lunch at noon where we had soup and salad. It tasted like a homemade Panera Bread, I loved it. After lunch, we sent the team home to get some rest before the game tomorrow. The coaches and I did our usual routine and talked for another hour about tomorrow’s game. We headed home at 2:00.
