January 13, 2024: It's Game Day ( 7 hours)

Here we are again, it’s game day! Today is our first hard matchup of 2024, so everyone on staff and suited up to play needs to be locked in. I woke up today at 9:00 a.m. which is an hour later than usual and I must say, it was well needed. I made myself some french toast, eggs, and bacon to fuel myself for the day. After I ate I put on my game day outfit and headed to the gym. I had to stop at Starbucks of course, it’s an important part of my daily routine. When I got my drink I headed to the athletic center. I arrived at 11:00 and went into the office and joked around with my staff a little bit to get ourselves in a good mood for game day. I went onto the court at noon to start my team’s pregame warmup, we did our same routine as usual to prepare. We went into the locker room at our usual time to do our pregame talk and words of wisdom. After getting the team fired up, we headed back to the court where we did a layup line and shot some free throws before the national anthem and starting lineup. This game ended at about 3:15 and didn’t turn out the way we wanted it to. We lost very badly and we were very harsh in our post-game talk with the girls. However, we ended it with some encouragement to keep our heads up and focus on the next game. Once they all got dressed and left the other coaches and I talked about the negatives and positives from this game. We had to come up with a plan to correct all of this in next week’s practice. We were all very frustrated and decided to head home at around 6:00.
